The impact of the proposed Heysham M6 Link Road on the village of Halton was discussed at a recent meeting of village’s Parish Council.
TSLM made a presentation about the road at a special meeting in Halton Community Centre. Topics included a possible increase in traffic through the village from the new roundabout at Shefferlands, and the potential dangers from erosion and flooding with the new bridge over the Lune. The presentation was to help the PC with its submission to the Local Transport Plan.
As part of the presentation, TSLM commissioned an artist’s impression of the new bridge over the Lune. Here it is: before and after.

“The Government wants to reduce traffic on our roads, but building a new Link road would have the opposite effect,” said Mr Kirkbride. “Council Tax payers should seriously ask when our money will be spent on transport solutions that local residents can actually benefit from.”
