31.08.05 Come and join us walk the route “Come and join us walk the route”. That’s the appeal from TSLM (Transport Solutions for Lancaster & Morecambe). “On Sunday 4th September we would like people to join us walk along part of the route of the proposed Heysham M6 Link road” said David Gate, Chair TSLM. “You will see what damage the road would do to our communities and our beautiful countryside. “We’ll meet outside Broadoak Garden Centre, Torrisholme at 10.45am. There will be a short walk to Slyne, adjacent to the route, for a picnic & group photo. Please bring a picnic. Wear an orange T shirt, if possible. If you can only make the picnic & photo, meet at the corner of Green Lane/ Slyne Road at 1pm. “Next Sunday it will be a year since Lancashire County Council voted for this monstrous, damaging road” said Mr Gate. “But now people have seen the plans, they are horrified. At LCC’s public exhibitions in May, people were asked what they thought of the road. Results published recently show only 21% support the road, with a massive 76% against.
