The area between Beaumont and Slyne would be dominated by a huge roundabout in the field to the West of the current A6. The A6 would be realigned and elevated to cross the Link Road. A new access road, controlled by traffic lights, would leave the A6 slightly to the north of Beaumont G. Farm.
Looking West across the A6 towards Torrisholme - the roundabout would be situated in the field behind the white house. The hills at each side of the A6 would be carved out to accommodate the new road in deep cuttings. Traffic on parts of the A6 are forecast to rise by around 86%
Our artist’s impression gives an idea of the visual impact, showing the revised A6 rising over the planned M6 link road
The road would then continue Eastward towards Halton, following the low land in the centre of the photograph....
....going under both Blackcastle Lane and Kellet Lane....
...before reaching the huge roundabout and access roads to Halton, the M6 North and the new Lune bridge
