Did you guys know that sixteen-year-old girls who are confident and sexually active are sluts? This book is about Hannah who shows up in her mother’s home town of Portero, Texas. After hitting her aunt on the head with a rolling pin Hanna runs off and goes to her mother, who she’s never had a relationship with.
I admired the sight of our naked feet, settled so closely together, golden against the icy sheen of the kitchen tile.

Slice of Cherry Kindle Edition. The only way I can validly explain how I felt about this book is the below sentence: She wears only purple to honor her dead father, whose ghost speaks to her. It is all about the casual weirdness. With a head plagued by hallucinations, a medicine cabinet full of pills, and a closet stuffed with frilly, violet dresses, Hanna’s tired of being the outcast, the weird girl, the freak.
The character was such an author’s pet and that hinders any story in my opinion when the author loves their main character too much. There is also a romantic plotline in BV. So, all that being said, is Bleeding Violet ableist?
It’s literally a fight or be eaten situation. Hanna simply wants to be loved. Wyatt, a young member of the Mortmaine group is the only likable character in this book and Hannah’s boyfriend. Rosalee and Hanna are fucked up people with their own traumas and issues and hangups. She has so many issues that need to be addressed and a definite mental illness that needs to be treated.
But Portero is a stranger town than Hanna expects. She uses sex as a weapon and refuses to be with anyone.
The plot goes from normal, to weird, to doa, to WTF, to complete shock. This one goes on my “avoid at all costs” list. I’ve reviewed a fair amount of urban fantasy novels, and so I’m used to reading about strange creatures and happens, but Bleeding Violet is written in a way that makes you stop and think “What?
It does contain some frank sexual dialogue, and some profanity. Well, that was a hot mess of crazy overwrought people doing things that made no sense in an entirely implausible setting. To view it, click here. Hanna was the saving grace for me and one character I can’t help but applaud for her bravery and facing down those who feel she is not worthy or important.
It’s like you said – it’s easy to fascinate men. Oh, and the windows are trying to lure people to their deaths. This book ida just a hot mess despite its gorgeous cover art. Hannah practically jumps for joy because everyone is freakier than she is and decides she wants to be Mortmaine and fight evil alongside Wyatt.

Biting what’s-his-face hard enough to make him bleed? And you viklet White Rabbit—always out of reach. Anything can happen and no one is safe. I really can not wrap my mind around the fact that this disgrace of a book was actually written, much less sold on shelves.
How many times have I told you? Trivia About Bleeding Violet. Enter Gleeding Jarvinen, first person narrator of this story and one of the most fascinating characters I have ever had the pleasure to meet.
Dia Reeves did an amazing job with introducing us to Hanna, the main character who has bio-polar, schizophrenia and a few other diagnosis. And here I am, tall ish and brunette and brown as sugar.

Her need for motherly love and acceptance, to fit in start a sequence of events which in turn re-set something that started a long time ago — but again, THOSE events wore also consequences of deeply felt emotions that converged in one horrible moment in time: I’d have to agree with this sentiment.
