The above image is licensed under GPL 2. It’s very much untested and probably extremely broken, but I would love to get some broojstix on it.

The Big Beautiful List of Harry Potter RPGs
When the books first came out they sent out warnings, they don’t do it anymore as long as its not sexually explicit or attempting to make a profit.
In the end you, as owner of intellectual property you toe a very fine line. On the one hand you want to foster community and fanbase, on the other hand you need to protect you IP lest it becomes common property and you lose all control over what you created. My understanding–and NB, this is third-hand at best–is that they worked with New World Magischola to help them file off the serial numbers without changing the overall aesthetic too much.
But that might broomstox a special case. Harry Potter has also inspired way more than its fair share of unauthorised derivative works broostix fan fiction. After an initial stumble due to a heavy-handed letter to a fan site, Rowling has famously given her blessing to fan fiction, provided it is non-commercial and not sexually explicit.
The spokesman at the literary agency stressed that copyright in the Harry Potter series and characters brroomstix with Rowling and trademarks with Warner Bros. Links to these articles can be found via my write up about it on: I was well on the radar for many years without a single communication from Warner Bros.
I don’t know about the websites they took down, maybe they were selling something they shouldn’t have been? I actually wrote that game as a joke to try and see if I’d get a cease and desist. Never did, and that game is how old? If you’d like to borrow anything from mine, feel free to have a look! I’d spend some time perfecting the design – the font, spacing, it’s all a bit too crude to enjoy it properly. I’m looking at the list of negative status effects and it seems rather gritty. I’ve never seen oxygen deprivation listed as a status effect in a game before. In fact, the entire thing actually seems rather crunchy. Not my cup of tea, but that’s a personal preference. Still, it does seem a little odd to run a fantasy setting written for children and young adults with such a crunchy system.
There’s multiple references to DC without any explanation of what it actually is. Can I assume you’re primarily familiar with Dungeons and Dragons? It would explain a bit. Combat seems quite underdeveloped in comparison to the rest of the system.
There’s reference to both spaces and distance moved, though there’s no mention of what the distance is measured in. Is this supposed to be played with miniatures? On a grid, like chess pieces? Can it be played “theatre of the mind” style? There seems to be a mention of energy brooomstix. In HP wizards can cast all day long, with the only cost being possibly a sore wrist.
There shouldn’t he an energy cost for spells in Harry Potter, everyone broomstixx a wizard so you don’t have to worry about balancing with martial classes, balance should come with counter spells and the ability to move out of the way. In Harry Potter you always cast a spell at the first thing in a line going out from your wand.
