In the first, titled ‘The Road to Quantum Reality’, Pagels comes to grips with the conundrums and paradoxes to which the essential “weirdness” of quantum theory has led. Particles, Objects, and Physics. Pagel is able to discuss complex features of quantum mechanics through a simple approach and, even though the book is already somewhat old, the passion and the relevance of the chosen topics to approach render this book as an almost timeless effort.
Present-day scientists have generally neglected such questions or given them conventional and shallow attention tinged with disciplinary chauvinism. From Falling Bodies to Radio Waves: It is purposely light on the maths side for example, I would have appreciated some detail on fundamental items such as the Wave Equation, Bohr’s model of the atom, Schroedinger Equation, wave phase invariance etc.
His presentation includes many of the more famous paradoxes, critical concepts, and experimental results now part of the interpretive debating lore, including Schroedinger’s cat, the Einstein-Rosen-Podolsky thought experiment, hidden-variable theory, Bell’s inequality, and nonlocal causality which he manages rather convincingly to reject. As for me, Pagels did a superb job in explaining quite a number of QM related concepts, such as randomness and probability distributions, the Bell’s inequality, the Schroedinger’s cat analogy and why the second law of thermodynamics cannot in fact be obtained from just the laws of motion of all the individual particles, as well as why infinities are obtained for the mass of Despite being written invosmic book is a wonderful non-mathematical introduction to Quantum Theory for the layperson.
And boy, that Steven Weinberg sure sounds like a fun date the only things truly “pointless and meaningless” were his quotes.
Buku yang terbaik selepas buku Hawking. Monthly downloads Sorry, there are not enough data points to plot this chart. This book was unbelievably amazing. This posture is the yhe of a complicated historical process in which scientists have not always been at fault.

Justin Pniower – unknown. Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. I can surely coemic this lecture to anyone who wants a solid I repeat non-mathematical understanding of modern physics, quantum theory in its main aspects.
The Great Physicists from Galileo to Einstein. Some parts of the book are also unfortunately a bit outdated considering that the book was originally published inthis is understandable but most of the book is still highly relevant today. This article has no associated abstract.
